NEW PROGRAM... For parents new to the complex world of special education…you need a PEEP. A Parent Educational Engagement Partner, or PEEP, have person lived experience plus 40 hours training, modeling and coaching. They will support, engage and educate parents on their Childs diagnosis and area of exceptional student educational services. They do this by increasing parental involvement, building their knowledge and confidence and providing overall support with a goal of improving the child’s academic achievement over time. They attend school meetings to support the student and family. This service is provided FREE of charge, for Duval County Students ages 3 to 21. PEEPs: Parent Educational Engagement Partners

PEEPs are a new way for parents to gain FREE support for their child’s special educational issues. We attend IEP meeting with the Parent/Caregiver. We help parents/caregiver understand the process of and IEP meeting, acronyms, policies, testing, evaluations, explaining procedures and help them understand their child’s primary exceptionality and much more.

We are part of a parents Dream Team when they enter a school for a meeting. We support students and families for FREE and attend all school meeting either in-person or virtual for the student with the parent/Caregiver in Jacksonville.

 PEEP’s are:

  • Trained in Individualized Education Plan (IEP).
  • Trained in Individuals with Disability Education Act (IDEA).
  • Consultants
  • Provide tools, ideas, information and Support to families/caretaker.
  • Have lived experience
  • Provide appropriate guidance
  • Find the needs and strengths
  • Behaviors and learning styles
