Kutting for Kids on The USS Orleck

Kutting for Kids is a special annual event to raise funds for youth programs on the USS Orleck. The event provides hair donations to Locks of Love for children suffering from long-term medical hair loss. Last year’s event raised over $17,000 dollars and this year our goal is to raise $30,000 with hair donations and corporate sponsorships. The funds raised this year will go towards the restoration of the berthing areas to allow overnight stays for youth organizations.

Hair donors must be willing to donate at least 6” of healthy hair and must register for an appointment on www.EventBrite.com. They will be asked to try to raise at least $200 in sponsorships and donations. The ship will be open for general visiting. If space is available haircuts that don’t meet donation guidelines will be offered for a suggested donation of $20. Barbers and cosmetologists who would like to volunteer their services should contact Lee Goodnight at 904-264-2244 or Lee@HairByLee.com.
