Jax Dragonfly Academy Rocks and Minerals

Explore rocks, minerals, weathering, and erosion. We will do 3 activities that will teach kids about the rock cycle, types of rocks, and erosion. These will take about an hour. We will then take an 8 minute walk down to the shore area to take a look at the effects of erosion first hand. After this, you are free to stay and explore, or head back at your leisure.

I would definitely recommend bringing a lunch and hanging out at the park after the class is over. If you have never been here before, this is a unique ecosystem with lots to explore on both the land and sea. Swimming is not allowed due to the submerged trees(park rules), but wading is fine, so bring some water shoes!
What to Bring
Bugspray, Water bottle, Water shoes and shorts or clothes that can get wet (swimsuits are ok, but we will only be walking on the shore, not swimming) *There is an 8 minute hike down to the shore, please bring appropriate footwear.
