POWER – A Celebration of Black Arts, History & Culture at MOSH

Presented by the MOSH Passport Series and in collaboration with Ritz Theatre and Museum, the second annual Power event is a vibrant celebration of Black Art, History, & Culture in Northeast Florida. This event is part of MOSH’s Passport Series program, which aims to connect communities and cultures and facilitate educational growth. Listen, learn, and enjoy the dynamic atmosphere that celebrates Black Art, History, & Culture!

A single ticket purchase provides access to both venues for the event and includes food selections, access to discussion panel sessions, live entertainment, and free exploration of Museum exhibitions.

Saturday, March 16 from 5 – 10 PM at MOSH
– Film Screening of The Banker in the PNC Community Conference Room at 5:00PM
– Art Exhibitions highlighting Local Black Artists starting at 5:00PM
– Local Black-owned businesses and Cuisine starting at 6:00PM
– Live Art Demonstrations in the JEA Science Theater and Creation Station at 8:00PM
– Myke Hernandez, CEO GameQraft – 3D printing demo/tutorial in JEA Science Theater
– Teresa Cook, CEO Teresa Cook Art – architectural/landscape watercolor workshop in Creation Station
– Live Entertainment by Str8up in the Planetarium from 8:00-10:00PM
– Discussion panel on important topics in Jacksonville with Dr. Diana Greene, CEO, Children’s Literacy Initiative and retired Superintendent of Duval County Public Schools; Erica Willie, CEO, Science Sis; and Trey Ford, Co-Founder, Black Films Matter and Duval Soil & Water Conservation Board Supervisor at 8:30 PM in the PNC Community Conference Room.

The MOSH Passport Series events are designed to create a welcoming environment that truthfully, authentically, and responsibly showcases the cultural richness of Northeast Florida.
